How to prepare your surface for Instalawn
- Plan carefully, making sure your surface is ready prior to receiving your Instalawn.
- Thoroughly clear the surface of unwanted grass and weeds. You could consider weed spraying to completely eliminate any unwanted growth (be sure to do this a minimum of 4 weeks before installing your new Instalawn)
- Break up and loosen the soil surface, this will help remove weeds and will aerate the earth allowing for moisture to penetrate.
- Level off and fertilize the area to be grassed and compress lightly. Make sure you allow for the thickness of the Instalawn when levelling the surface.
- Water the surface lightly and roll out your Instalawn carefully following parallel lines make sure to join the rolls tightly at the ends.
- Once you have completely covered your surface, water again and compress by placing a sheet of plywood down and walking over the surface.
- Water regularly for three weeks to allow the root system to get established.
